Is Figma actually better than Sketch or Adobe XD?

For collaborative teams, yes — the real-time multiplayer and browser-based access are legitimately transformative. For solo designers prioritising performance, Sketch remains faster on complex files. Adobe XD sits awkwardly in the middle, neither as collaborative as Figma nor as performant as Sketch.

Can developers actually use Dev Mode, or is it just for designers?

Developers genuinely benefit. According to user reports, frontend developers new to Figma become productive within 30 minutes. The contextual specs and code snippets are accurate and usable. It's not a replacement for design systems in code, but reviewers note it measurably reduces designer-developer back-and-forth.

How bad is the performance issue on large files?
