High-traffic sites or frequent deployments will trigger overage charges at $10 per 1,500 credits.

Is the free tier usable for real projects?

Barely. The 300 credits/month allowance is exhausted by 20 production deploys alone, before accounting for any bandwidth or compute. It works for static portfolios deployed a few times monthly, but active development or real user traffic pushes you into paid plans quickly.
