Common questions

What people ask about monday.com

Honest answers from our 14 months of testing, not the marketing site.

Can I use monday.com if I'm a solo business owner?
You can use the Free plan (2 seats, 3 boards), but all paid plans require a 3-seat minimum. If you need automations or integrations, you'll pay for 3 seats even if only one person uses the account. Solo users might find better value with Notion, ClickUp, or Trello.
What's the real difference between Standard and Pro?
Standard ($12/seat annual) gives 250 automations/integrations per month. Pro ($19/seat) jumps to 25,000 actions, adds time tracking, private boards, chart views, and formula columns. If you bill clients by the hour or hit Standard's 250-action limit, Pro justifies the cost.
Are the 200+ integrations actually good?
Native integrations with Slack, Gmail, and Zoom work well. Microsoft Teams and some third-party connections receive mixed reviews—users report they feel 'surface-level' and require more manual work. Integrations count against your monthly automation quota, so heavy syncing can exhaust Standard's 250-action limit.
Why do people complain about forms creating duplicates?
monday.com WorkForms can only create new items, not update existing ones. If you send a client a form to update their project details, it generates a duplicate item. Teams spend hours manually merging duplicates. This is the #1 pain point reported by implementation partners.
Is there a nonprofit discount?
Yes. Eligible nonprofits receive 10 free Pro tier users plus 70% off additional users. Education institutions should contact sales for custom pricing. Students can access ~15% discounts through third-party resellers like OnTheHub.
